This blog is dedicated to cinderella club El Gouna FC from the Egyptian Red Sea resort, having moved up the tables in spectacular fashion from the fourth division to the Momtaz, the Egyptian equivalent to the Premier League, in a span of only six seasons.

El Gouna FC 2009/10

El Gouna FC were born under the approval number 79 of the Egyptian Football Asscociation on 1 July 2003. The team took the leagues by storm and progessed from the fourth divisions doldrums to the Egyptian Premier League in six seasons.

The Egyptian Premier League has been suspended until further notice, following the atrocities at Al Masry’s Port Said Stadium. Sincere condolences go out to the victims and their families.

Three second half goals from Arfa El Said, Bubba and Mohamed Ashour secured three points for the Bustan Boys  in a comfortable 3-1 over Petrojet Suez.

 

 

A 92nd minute last gasp Ahmed Eid attempt denied El Gouna FC what would have been a deserved draw against league leaders Haras El Hadood from Alexandria.

The Bustan Boys cemented their mid-table material and position with seven draws, four wins and four defeats  from fifteen matches. The club will host relegation-threatened Petrojet on Monday 23 January 2012.

A narrow 2-1 home win at the expense of Telefonad Beni Suef saw El Gouna FC restore confidence after three defeats on the trot.

Buba Blunder

El Gouna FC are away from home against Arab Contractors on Saturday 31 December 2011, after having srcaped out yet another draw against secon-placed Shorta, with Buba missing a penalty in the 70th minute.

El Gouna FC moved to second spot in the table after a narrow 0-1 away win at Smouha in Alexandria, Ahmed Adel finding the net in the 85th minute, extending their unbeaten run to nine.

Humble Harbe

El Gouna FC left El Intaq El Harbe trailing 3-0 after a comfortable 2-0 lead at halftime. El Gouna FC have now stretched their unbeaten record to 8 and will face lowly Smouha on Wednesday 21 December 2011 in Alexandria.

El Gouna FC remain unbeaten in seven successive games an played out yet another 1-1 stalemate against Tala-Al-Jaish, Buba putting The Bustanians on the scoreboard in the 22nd and Jaish restoring parity 2 minutes later.

El Gouna FC, currently 8th in the table,  are home to El Intag El Harbe on Saturday 17 december 2011.

 

El Gouna FC  remained unbeaten after coming back from two goals down to deny Ghazl Mahalla with a 2-2 draw at the Bustan Stadium, Gouna only to able levelling after the break.

Wadi Degla were held to a 0-0 draw by El Gouna FC in Cairo, the Bustan Boys first goalles affair of the campaign.
