Lacklustre El Gouna FC were no match for title-chaser Petrojet in Suez, conceding three goals and managing to put one on the scoreboard through a concilation goal by Hessan Ali in the 74st minute.

Coach Ismael Youssef was let down by his team, unable to exploit his game plan and leaving question marks about the competitive level of some of his players.

El Gouna FC suffered their first home defeat at the hands of lowly Petrol Assyut, recording their first victory,  through an own goal by Mohammede Abdallah after just 3 mniutes into the game. Sheriff Redda and new signing Gamel Hamza both hit the woodwork in the 40th and 75th minute, leaving the newly-promoted club empty handed in front of a meagre 1,000 crowd.

El Gouna FC will entertain Petrol from Assyut at home on Monday 8 February to kick-off the return round of the 2010/2011 Momtaz campaign.

The Egyptian FA have extended the Momtaz break for an undisclosed period after The Pharaoh’s unprecedented trilogy in the African Cup of Nations.

The competition was due to resume on Thursday, but the FA want to give the Egyptian internationals an extra rest period.
