Coach Ismael Youssef  displayed nothing but contempt for  Medhat Al Houfi’s refereeing performance in the match against ENPPI. El Goua FC saw Hussein Ali sent off rather than ENPPI’s Ayman Saied, according to Youssef.

El Gouna FC suffered their first Momtaz defeat at the hands of ENPPI. The home site took the lead in the 28st minute through Ivorian Zeka Goore. In the second half El Gouna FC came back with Arfa El Sayed putting the away team on the scorboard in the 73rd minute. Gouna’s Hassan Ali was sent off nine minutes from the end. Eventually Voneyte took advantage with an injury time header to produce the final 2-1 score .

El Gouna FC will be entertained away from home by Enppi in their Petrosports Stadium in the Cairene suburb of Khattemeya on Tuesday 25  August 2009. The evening kick-off is scheduled for 9.30pm local time.

El Gouna FC squandered two points at home against also newly-promoted Mansourah. The guests took the lead in the 78th minute , after woeful defending, from a set piece against the run of play. However, with one minute left to play in regular time Redda Shehata equalised for El Gouna FC to secure a well -deserved point.

El Gouna FC have been given permission by the Egyptian Football Association to stage top-flight football  at their new 13,000 capacity stadium in Bustan. The club will now entertain another newly-promoted side, Mansoura, on Wednesday 19 August 2009, the match kicking off at 5pm.

El Gouna FC kicked off their first ever Momtaz campaign with a comfortable 1-1 draw against bogey team Petrol in Asyut. Ahmed Omran became the first Gouna player to score at top flight level in the 73th minute, with Fathy Mabrouk equalising 60 seconds later.

This blog is dedicated to cinderella club El Gouna FC from the Egyptian Red Sea resort, having moved up the tables in spectacular fashion from the fourth division to the Momtaz, the Egyptian equivalent to the Premier League, in a span of only six seasons.

El Gouna FC were born under the approval number 79 of the Egyptian Football Asscociation on 1 July 2003. The team took the leagues by storm and progessed from the fourth divisions doldrums to the Egyptian Premier League in six seasons.
