Sherif Ekramy September 2009

Sherif Ekramy looks poised to re-join Ahli. While Ahli are looking for a new keeper in the winter break, Ekramy has been shortlisted as a strong contender to join the Red Devils.

El Gouna FC’s manager Ismail Youssef indicated that Ahli’s prospected offer for goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy will be seriously considered.

“We have no reservations to let him go if that’s what he wants, but we are only ready to sell him at the right price.”

Ekramy has been in a terrific form with league debutants Gouna so far this season and is tipped to join the Egypt squad in the near future.

Sherif is reported to have a LE 2.5 mio price tag.

El Gouna FC attracted their biggest home crowd of the season so far with the arrival of the famous yellow and blue Dervishes from Ismailia.

Gouna’s Reda Shehata gave the spirited home side a well-deserved  lead in the 11th minute, before topscorer Ahmed Omran brought the house down eight  minutes from the break.

Ismaili captain Mohamed Hommos crucially pulled one back for The Dervishes at the stroke of half-time and substitute Mohab Saied equalized in the 57th minute with an absolute screamer.

With matches resuming after a one month draught El Gouna FC managed to halt Zamalek at Cairo International Stadium.

Ahmed Omran hit the opener for the coastal outfit two minutes from the break, but the Cairo giants equalized when Mido struck early in the second half with aplomb to restore parity.

In the dying minutes, Amr Zaki received a straight red card after a brief verbal exchange with the linesman.

Zamalek, who also failed to win their previous two league games, are now in eighth place with eight points, while the coastal outfit lie seventh on nine points.

El Gouna FC have been without playmaker Amr Samaka who ruptured a cruciate knee ligament in El Gouna’s 2-1 defeat at ENPPI. The club saw midfielder Wael Riad, aka ‘Cheetos’,  sustain a similar injury few days before the league’s start during  a friendly with Zamalek. The pair will fly to Germany shortly for further treatment and a recovery programme.

El Gouna FC took the maximum of three points in Cairo with a 3-2 win in a friendly match at Green Mountain with Mokawloon.

The home site took the lead, with Ahmed Omran equalising, only for Mokawloon to regain control with a converted penalty kick.

In the second half Ramy Adel balanced the game at 2-2. El Gouna FC rounded off a fine performance with a classic Mohamed Al Zayat strike.
