El Gouna FC were held to draw in the Egyptian Premier League game against Tala El Gaish. The home side took the lead after ten minutes thanks to a glorious strike form distance from Nur Al-Sayeed.

After the break, Ghanaian striker Ernest Papa Arko equalized for Gaish in the 47th minute before receiving his marching orders. The league’s joint-top scorer last season was involved in an off-the-ball incident with Gouna defender Mostafa Fouad on the hour mark. Even though they played with a man down for more than 30 minutes, Gaish held on to maintain their unbeaten record.

Goalie Ekramy picked up a minor foot injury in the process of a string of friendly matches in Cairo.

The Ahli-target custodian limped off in the first half after sustaining the injury, and now he needs a week on the sidelines to recover, Gouna chief medic Adel Hadad revealed. Abdo Shaban was sent in after Ekrami.

With one match to go in a friendly trio El Gouna FC completed a 2-1 win over Arab Contractors and were defeated 2-0 by ENPPI at Khattemeya’s Petrosports Stadium, with coach Ismael Youssef resting the nucleus of his squad and trialling youngsters.

El Gouna FC have set up a training camp at the Victoria Academy in Gizah, anticipating a string of friendlies with the Momtaz halted until after the vital Egypt vs Algeria clash. Opponents on 5 November, 9 November and 13 Novembers are Arab Contractors, ENPPI and Petrojet respectively.
