El Gouna FC alleviated its dismal away woes with yet another solid home performance, this time against Itthad Alexandria.

Two goals from Ahmed Omran and Redda Shehata gave El Gouna FC a comfortable 2-0 cushion after 45 minutes in a game of two halves. Sheriff Ekramy stopped a penalty with 28 minutes on the clock. Itthad’s Shadi Mohamed narrowed the gap 10 minutes after the tea  with a penalty conversion.

El Gouna FC will entertain Itthad from Alexandria, currently rooted at the bottom of the table with one point from five matches, at home on Wednesday 23 September 2009 with a 3.15 pm kick-off.

The club are without playmaker Amr Samaka who ruptured a cruciate ligament in his knee in El Gouna’s 2-1 defeat at ENPPI.

The news comes as a major blow to coach Ismail Youssef, who saw midfielder Wael Riad sustain a similar injury few days before the league’s start.

Ismael Youssef claimed El Gouna FC’s lack of experience once again cost them following a 2-0 defeat at  Arab Contractors’ Ahmed Osman Ahmed Stadium.

“We committed silly mistakes and wasted many goal-scoring opportunities which would have given us a win.”

“Lack of experience was the main reason behind the defeat against Contractors.”

Tonight El Gouna FC slumped to yet another defeat away from home.  Contractor’s Alaa Kamel and Mohamed Samara sealed the Red Sea’s outfit with two goals in the second half.

The Osman Ahmed Osman Stadium in Cairo is the scene for El Gouna FC’s next away match. Entertainers are Arab Contractors, formerly guised as Mokawloon. The match is scheduled for Wednesday 16 september 2009 with an evening kick-off.

Table topping  Petrojet will tackle promoted El Gouna FC without their top scorer Al-Sayed Hamdi. Striker Hamdi, who scored three goals in as many games, sustained a foot injury in Egypt’s 1-0 victory over Rwanda in last weekend’s World Cup qualifier.
