El Gouna FC took on the yellow and blue from the town’s crest, reflecting the azure waters and sandy beaches of the ravishing Red Sea resort. The orange socks are a connotation to one of the primary colours of Orascom, the holdong company, creator and developer of the El Gouna resort.

At one stage during their 2004/05 campaign El Gouna FC were provided with a new outfit as a gift from an undisclosed benefactor. They were red shirts, black shorts and red socks and have since been used alternatively by the players on almost every occasion for ‘superstitious reasons’.

Occasionally, El Gouna FC would sport vibrant and fluorescent orange, conjuring up visions of the Dutch ‘naranja mecanica’ from the seventies when they took the World Cup 1974 by storm. This outfit was worn during pre-season friendlies or converted to when ‘ the red and black luck had ran out’.

Red and black were also worn during the successful 2008/09 campaign that saw El Gouna FC gain promotion to the Momtaz. The club and the home crowd may have seen the last of these colours in April 2009:
