This blog is dedicated to cinderella club El Gouna FC from the Egyptian Red Sea resort, having moved up the tables in spectacular fashion from the fourth division to the Momtaz, the Egyptian equivalent to the Premier League, in a span of only six seasons.
El Gouna FC were born under the approval number 79 of the Egyptian Football Asscociation on 1 July 2003. The team took the leagues by storm and progessed from the fourth divisions doldrums to the Egyptian Premier League in six seasons.

I settled in Egypt in April 2004, having emigrated from The Netherlands, just after El Gouna FC had successfully finished their first season on fourth division level. I have followed them ever since, both home and away.
