Coach Ismael Youssef displayed nothing but contempt for Medhat Al Houfi’s refereeing performance in the match against ENPPI. El Goua FC saw Hussein Ali sent off rather than ENPPI’s Ayman Saied, according to Youssef. The Red Sea outfit are now contemplating filing a complaint against Al Houfi with the EFA.

El Gouna FC have been given permission by the Egyptian Football Association to stage top-flight football at their new 13,000 capacity stadium in Bustan. The club will now entertain another newly-promoted side, Mansoura, on Wednesday 19 August 2009, the match kicking off at 5pm.

El Gouna FC kicked off their first ever Momtaz campaign with a comfortable 1-1 draw against bogey team Petrol in Asyut. Ahmed Omran became the first Gouna player to score at top flight level in the 73th minute, with Fathy Mabrouk equalising 60 seconds later.
